Barb Wagner is our Sunshine
Donation protected
Our dear friend, Barb Wagner, needs our help!
When thinking about Barb Wagner, it's often accompanied by a smile. She shows so much love and care for others and exudes joy everywhere she goes. You will often hear her singing "You Are My Sunshine." She shines bright in the lives of many, and it's time for us to bring her some sunshine.
Barb has been faced with some medical challenges and has a journey ahead of her that she does not need to face alone.
Barb went for open-heart surgery on April 4th to have an aortic valve replacement. It was during this time that the medical team discovered that Barb has Multiple Myeloma (cancer in the white blood cells). The course of treatment is extensive, which she has already started. For the next four months Barb will undergo chemotherapy via oral medication and injections. After this set of treatments, she will be required to go to the University Hospital in Saskatoon for more aggressive chemotherapy. It is during this time that she will be admitted for three weeks so that they can monitor her heart during treatment. Upon completion of the chemotherapy, Barb will then have a bone marrow transplant. The first attempt will utilize her own bone marrow, and if not successful, she will require a donor bone marrow transplant.
As you can see, Barb has a challenging journey ahead of her. It is our hope that you will join us in supporting Barb through financial donations to bring her peace and comfort so that she can focus on healing.
Barb... we want you to know that we are behind you and you've got this!
