How does one ask for help? Barb Thornton doesn't really know.
Barb has always cared for other people. In fact, as she started having unexplained abdominal pain in early June our uncle - the person she had been caring for full time for the past 2 years - was hospitalized. Though this gave her time to go to the doctor to get herself checked out, it took almost 2 months of tests to find that she had stage 2 pancreatic cancer and also resulted in 2 months when she wasn't working (our uncle died in July at the age of 96.)
At this time, Barb and Bob don’t know exactly how this is going to affect them financially, but they do know that their insurance only covers 80% of costs.
Some people have indicated that they want to help Barb and Bob shoulder the financial burden. They can't thank you enough for that love and support of Barb during this difficult journey.
Thank you,
Mary Rieke
Barb's sister
