In Loving Memory of Barb Hoolaeff

Our dear friend, Barb Hoolaeff, recently passed away after a courageous and hard‑fought battle. Barb lived life with a rare intensity — she worked hard, played hard, traveled widely, and poured her heart into her family and friends. Anyone who knew her will carry her spirit with them forever.

To honour Barb in a way that reflects her love of community and the place she called home, her family hopes to install a memorial picnic table at Skaha Lake Park (Muscle Beach). This spot is especially meaningful: for many years, Barb and her husband and best friend, Garry, ran the Above the Beach Bed & Breakfast overlooking this very stretch of shoreline. It was a place filled with laughter, stories, and the warmth that Barb created so effortlessly.

If we can raise enough funds, this picnic table will become a lasting place of rest and reflection — a tribute to Barb that will be enjoyed for decades to come.
