Bar Mock Trial Finals - Bishop Luffa
Donation protected
Hello my name is Eleanor Lowes and I am a student at Bishop Luffa Sixth Form. I am part of the Bar Mock Trial team at my Sixth Form along with 14 other pupils. We previously won the regional heat in Guildford in November and have been invited to represent the South East of England at the national finals in Edinburgh in late March. The Bar National Mock competition aims to give young people an insight into the workings of the British legal system, involving over 2000 students, 200 barristers/advocates and around 90 judges from all over England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The competition is run by the Young Citizens charity (I have added the link to their website at the bottom of this page), who give pupils such as myself an opportunity to learn more about law, including learning about the individual roles in court, which provides students a valuable experience.
We are very excited for this trip, however the cost of attending is quite large. We are aiming to fundraise a sum of £4500 to cover the cost of transport and accommodation for all 15 students on the team. As this is a large amount we would appreciate it if you would consider donating to our GoFundMe page in order to help the team get to Edinburgh for the national finals.
At the end of this page I have added the link to the Bishop Luffa Twitter page where you can find out more about the activities that students and sixth form pupils participate in at school during the year. I have also added the link to the school website as well as the team’s email address in case any more information is needed. Please don’t hesitate to ask us any questions regarding the Bar Mock Trials or our trip in March.
Again, the team would be grateful for any contributions that you may be able to donate towards our trip.
We sincerely thank you for your help.
Eleanor Lowes, on behalf of the Bishop Luffa Bar Mock Trial team.
