On March 15, The Banty Rooster temporarily closed due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in New York City, leaving our 33 staff members unemployed virtually overnight, through no fault of their own.
As a small business that opened only three months ago, we did not have the resources to provide additional pay or benefits for them. And with so many restaurants across the city closed as well, there are no other jobs to be found.
Many of our team members live paycheck to paycheck, and have nowhere to turn for help. Any funds donated will be split amongst the staff. Even a small donation helps--please consider what you would want others to do if you were in a similar position. Many thanks for your time and consideration!
