Banks’ Emergency Surgery
Donation protected
Hi all! My name is Claudia Hoffman and I am creating this GoFundMe in an attempt to help my brother Gabe and his wife Chelsea raise funds for their dog’s emergency surgery. Their dog Banks started vomiting about every 15 minutes yesterday morning. He hasn’t eaten in 36 hours and he is extremely uncomfortable. After a visit to the vet yesterday, Banks was put on an antibiotic that briefly stopped the vomiting. However, Gabe had to take him to the emergency vet at 1am this morning and he has a distended stomach. There is most likely something in his belly, but they won’t know until he has surgery. It was due to start at 7am, but has been delayed. They are patiently waiting to hear back from the vet. The minimum fee for the surgery is $4,100. Gabe and Chelsea recently had to replace their washer and dryer, refrigerator, and have had some unexpected medical bills. Bottom line- they need some help and would never ask for it. As teachers, they are constantly giving to their students, their schools, and to others. They are two of the most kind and generous people I’ve ever met and would give the shirt off their backs for a random stranger if it was needed. If you have the extra funds or the means to help, please consider donating to Banks’ surgery to help them. Their son Ryne wants his best buddy back home safely!
Update on Banks:
“Banks had a foreign substance that had traveled and elongated in both his stomach and intestines. They were able to remove the blockage but the intestines were very damaged. They are now cutting out the section of damaged intestine. It was about a 6 hour surgery, but they think he will be okay. He is still in the hospital. Will most likely be there until tomorrow at minimum. He is still regurgitating a lot. The doctor said that’s common. He was so messed up on the insides that there is still a lot of trauma, bruising, and acid built up. They said he’s acting in much better spirits though. Almost pulled the nurse over when he got to go for a quick walk.” This is a text I received from Gabe that combines updates from yesterday and today. I am extending the goal amount because, since Banks had to have a portion of his intestines removed, the surgery fees have increased to over $7,000. Again, any and ALL donations are greatly appreciated!! I know Gabe and Chelsea already feel a weight off of their shoulders because of the funds you all have donated so far. Thank you for helping their family!!
