Banjo needs surgery bad!
3 years ago we walked into the SPCA to find a specific kind of dog. After several hours we didn't find the dog we wanted but an employee told us they had a few dogs that were quarantined since they were sick and offered us to foster one. Upon walking in Banjo picked us, we didnt pick him; happy, loveable, energetic, playful...we took the chance at fostering him. When he was healed, the SPCA wanted him back but we just couldn't let him go. We HAD to adopt him. We couldn't let him be abandonned again. Banjo was brought back to the SPCA twice before us and we somehow knew we were his last chance. He had food allergies, was hyperactive and quite anxious/nervous. We did everything in our power to help him. We put him through training, got him a playmate (another rescue) changed his diet to help out with his allergies but most of all we LOVED him.
We just found out that Banjo, our rescue 3 year old dog has a degenerative cruciate ligament condition. He has a torn ligament in the knee. He's an extremely active dog. He can no longer run, jump or fetch. His favorite thing in the world is his toy. He's been miserable as he can no longer enjoy life as he used to.
We have met with an amazing Orthopedics veterinarian Dr. Planté at the DMV Clinic that can make him feel better and suggested a highly beneficial surgery (with 85% to 90% success rate) for Banjo. The surgery is very expensive and we want to help him! But now we are facing the unbearable reality of our losing him, not because of something that can’t be fixed, but because of the $5000 cost of the surgery which we cannot afford.
We cannot bear to lose our Banjo, he is counting on us to save his life. We cannot fail him! PLEASE whatever you can give, it will all add up. We love our boy so much, PLEASE help us save him!
We are working hard to find a solution to save Banjo's life. He deserves it!
Banjo is always happy, he goes to people and wants to play and be loved by eveybody. He's such a happy dog and he needs this surgery desperately.
Thank you all for your help.
