BANGOR'S GHOST - Stories that survive the grave. For Bangor, by Bangor.

WHO?

My name is Rachel McCarthy. Primarily a songwriter and musician turned incidental filmmaker from Bangor in County Down, Northern Ireland.

Through my involvement with arts and music in Bangor over the last decade,

I have been fortunate to have met some wonderful fellow musicians, writers, artists, storytellers and poets.

WHAT IS BANGOR'S GHOST?

Over the past decade, I have worked with many of these artists, curating and performing in an intriguing live show of poetry, stories, songs and live visuals.

Each artist performs material they have written and adapted based on Bangor's rich but lesser-known past.

I have decided that it's time to put all of our hard work on the record and make a documentary-style feature-length film that can carry our words and imagery out to a broader audience and make it accessible worldwide.

This project has long been a labor of love for myself and all of the incredible Bangor's Ghost artists involved over the years. A project for the community by the community.

We do, however, need your support to help to make this film as great as possible on what will still be a minimal budget.

WHY?

The project is already halfway there in terms of making the film, with most scenes and performances already captured by myself behind the camera and sound recordist Chris Roberts.

We need financial support to get this film to the finish line. All money raised will help cover further production costs for the time-consuming editing process, hiring a second camera person for some final scenes, and help cover overall expenses from filming in all sorts of locations in and around the town.

Suppose you can get behind our project by donating or spreading the word about our crowdfunding campaign. In that case, we will be ever so grateful and all the more excited to deliver this unique film about our beloved town.

To all of you who kindly donate, your name will be included in the end credits as you will have played an essential role alongside us. You will also receive exclusive early access to an online screening before the film is released.
