Bangor Helps Giacomo's Employees

Hello Bangor community.

As many of you know, Giacomo's of downtown Bangor closed on Christmas Eve. All employees were let go without prior warning. The owner has spoken with the Bangor Daily News and has suggested that he will be reopening in the spring. We hope this is the case. But meanwhile, there are 6 employees who suddenly find themselves without a job ... and there are many of you who have expressed the want to help them out.

The employees are: Kimberly, Megan, Mary, Gabby, Kendra & Devin. Through this campaign, we hope to get them some funding for groceries, rent, and gas to tie them over until they can receive unemployment benefits or find another job.

With your help, we hope to raise at least $500 per employee (but would be happy for more). The money will be used to purchase gift cards for groceries, gas, and to pay some toward rent should funds allow.

Bangor is wonderfully notorious for taking care of one another. I know I have been helped through this community, and it is the least I can do to spread that love to others in need.

For transparency's sake ... my name is Jodi Renshaw. I live on Wing Street in Bangor, Maine. I have lived in this area for over 25 years. All funds will be gathered into a seperate account and will be distributed to the employees with the help of the former manager, Kimberly Gleeson. Please contact me via this site with any questions.

THANK YOU ALL for your love and generosity. PLEASE REMEMBER that one of the BEST ways to SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER is to continue to SHOP LOCALLY! :)
