Bando’s MRI
Donation protected
On January 24th, Bando woke up for the day but his hind legs did not. After an emergency vet visit, our options currently are to see if his strength comes back in the next week or so, or we can get an MRI to see if his spine has damage that requires surgery.
Anything helps, please.
Raising funds for the MRI first since that alone is about $5000. If surgery is needed from there, our plan will develop accordingly.
UPDATE: Bando has received beyond exceptional direction and care from the Emergency staff and the Neurology professionals at UGA vet teaching hospital. They did everything they could to fit him in for an MRI Tuesday and he was sent to surgery directly afterwards. Most signs point to his sudden loss of function being caused from spinal stroke. (these are apparently unlikely to be recurring) He will be staying hospitalized and under supervision for his early recovery for a couple days at the least. The high end of quote for the MRI and the surgery (before hospitalization) is $6000. ($3000 deposit provided Tuesday before the MRI and surgery) His ER visit from Monday was $1500. I just want to be transparent with the costs associated for everyone that has been kind enough to have donated and for those who do want to know updates. His full recovery should be a few weeks and he will need to be a cautious pup moving forward with extremely limited strenuous activity but I am just grateful that it went as well as it has and that this isn’t going to be a permanent handicap for him.
