Hi, my name is Lacey Plante, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart for help with my beloved dog, Bandit, who is fighting for his life.

Back in December, Bandit was diagnosed with Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopenia (IMT), a rare and serious condition where the immune system attacks the body’s own platelets, leading to severe bleeding and bruising. With the help of amazing veterinarians, high doses of steroids, and immunosuppressant medications, he fought hard and began to improve.

We thought we were past the worst—but tragically, Bandit has now relapsed. He has been diagnosed with Evans Syndrome, a rare and even more dangerous condition that combines IMT and autoimmune hemolytic anemia. This means Bandit's immune system is now attacking both his red blood cells and platelets.

Bandit’s condition has rapidly worsened. His back leg is filled with blood and swollen. His eyes are bleeding. Blood is coming from his nose. His gums are bleeding, and his stomach is covered in painful bruises. Every movement is hard for him—but he is still fighting.

Bandit is now in urgent need of hospitalization and blood transfusions to survive. The cost of emergency care, hospitalization, transfusions, and continued treatment is quickly becoming overwhelming. I would do absolutely anything to save him, but I can’t do this alone.
