Band Together For Bash!
Donation protected
**UPDATE: We are SO CLOSE!! I didn’t want to say this at first because I was hopeful we would raise all the funds in one day and happily ever after is everyone. But reality has set in that we may not make it. I have to let people know what this means for Bash. If we can’t get him this surgery, once he reaches around 35 pounds, he will be in so much pain and his quality of life will quickly decrease. That being said: Please share this post! Please donate if you have anything to donate! His surgery date is 3/19/2024 and we will need the funds for that date.
**Bash will also be available for adoption 6-8 weeks after surgery! If you have fallen for this little guy as much as we have and are able to give him the life he deserves please feel free to reach out to me. Either @raleighbiscuitcompany on Instagram or through GoFundMe
Bash’s Story:
For those of you that don't know me, my name is Victoria, and I celebrated my 40th Birthday this past weekend with my closest friends and family in Charlotte, NC. Birthdays are usually filled with surprises, but there was no way of knowing that our chill birthday bash would turn into a rescue mission.
While opening the windows in the AirBnB to enjoy the absolutely gorgeous day, one of my friends happened to see a small black puppy running outside. He had no collar on and looked lost, so she called out for him. Without a moment of hesitation, this angel perked right up and headed our way, seemingly in high spirits.
This dog had the most enormous eyes, soft paws, and the gentlest demeanor; it had to belong to someone. So began the search for an owner. While posting the photos to every site we could find, and calling local shelters, two friends gave this sweet puppy a bath, and let him inside to relax.
As he got more comfortable, we started to notice that he was limping slightly while running and playing in the back yard with us, and would sit slightly off to one hip. We could tell that he was in pain, and wanted to do whatever we could to investigate.
I felt like he knew that he came to the right people, as I am the Office Manager at Parkwood Animal Hospital, and have more resources than most to get him the help that he deserves.
Our weekend in Charlotte was quickly coming to an end, and Facebook, Nextdoor, and lostdog.com turned out to be less than helpful. We did what we thought would be best for the little guy, which was to bring him back to Raleigh, but monitor responses closely. Upon returning home to Raleigh, I brought him into Parkwood to get X-rays on his hips, and tests done to make sure he was okay besides his obvious injuries.
After several tests, as well as conversations with the Doctor, we found out that he is about 4.5 months old, and is a silly mix of Lab, Boxer, and Pittie. Unfortunately, we also learned that he needed surgery on his right hip, and that it was crucial that it happen soon, as he would grow quickly, and the added weight could be detrimental. Even with all of the connections that I have in the Vet world, it is still projected to cost upwards of $3500.
This is money that neither my roomate, Courtney, or I have at our disposal. As animal lovers, this has put us in an extremely difficult place, as we would love to see this beautiful black and white pup, who we appropriately named Bash by the way, grow and thrive, and even eventually find his forever home.
I know as well as any that times are tough. Rent is skyrocketing and so are groceries, but anything that you may be able to donate would help us enormously, whether it be $1 or more than that. Nothing would bring more joy to our hearts than to see Bash running and playing, and living his best puppy life. Thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts for anything that you are able to give, and know that you have made a puppy's life leagues better.
