Band Director Cannot Afford Hospital (Heart)
Donation protected
My wife and I are both teachers - I am a Middle School Band Director and my wife is a Fifth Grade Teacher. On May 9th, 2021, I had to be be placed in the hospital due to severe pain in my chest. After careful observation, they found blockages to the electrical stimuli that my right side of my heart sends to my left side. This means that, instead of pumping correctly, my heart is swinging like a pendulum. Thankfully, there is a "fix" for this condition. It is called "Catheter Ablation". The charges so far (before this procedure" are $95, 674.60.
Thankfully, we have "good insurance", which means that we "only" have to come up with $7900. We don't have $7900, and when I should be mentally preparing myself for the cardiac ablation procedure, instead I am stressing about what this is going to do to us financially. To make matters worse, my wife's mother passed away on May 12, just three days after I went into the hospital.
I've never done anything like this before and, to be honest, my wife and I feel very uncomfortable asking for money. But we are at the end of our rope and don't know what else to do. We've always believed in treating people the way we want to be treated, and in helping others. We will be certain to "pass it down the line" when it's our turn. But right now it's our turn to ask for help. Thank you so much for your time, and for thinking about helping us.
