Sohn Fine Art is dedicated to the development, promotion and exhibition of innovative contemporary artworks by international and local artists. It is the company's mission to promote broader understanding of, and community engagement with photographic mediums through exhibitions, lectures and workshops. Sohn Fine Art's Master Artist Series program offers unique experiences with artists in the top of their fields to patrons and collectors of photography, as well as professional and aspiring photographers and artists. In addition to the Gallery, Sohn Fine Art offers fine art printing and framing services.
In this time of crisis, Sohn Fine Art remains devoted to continuing its decade-long commitment to supporting artists’ careers and creative projects. We strongly believe in the power art can have on personal expression and positive change, and in its ability to bring joy and inspiration to people and communities. We understand how valuable this is to our community, and in these uncertain times, art is more important than ever. In order to continue serving our community and artists we need your support.
Like so many small businesses directly affected by this pandemic, Sohn Fine Art has been financially impacted. We are doing everything we can to make it through this time while being closed to the public. We have applied for all of the government funding that is available for our business. If we receive it, without accumulating debt, we will have limited funds to put towards overhead and operating costs.
Current staffs at Sohn Fine Art are independent contractors which affects the relief we can receive for expenses, and which will also not cover our payments to them. We have made efforts to keep them working through this period. Despite increasing our online inventory on platforms such as Artsy, sales and printing / framing orders have been limited since we closed. We are continuing to find creative ways to expand our business, but need assistance. We rely on incoming business to maintain our overhead costs including rent, utilities, insurance, paying staff and other financial obligations.
Thank you for your help. Your contribution will support artists and make it possible for Sohn Fine Art to continue its mission. The funds that you contribute will go towards the following:
· Three months of portions of rent that our landlord will not forgive
· Utilities / operational expenses for our retail establishment
· Staff wages
· 20% of all money raised will go to the artists we represent. It is important to us that we continue to support them.
Any contribution youmake is valuable to us. Here are ways that we can give back to you for your gift:
· Supporter
Donate $100 and receive 10% off a one-time printing or framing order or artwork purchase up to $1500 from Sohn Fine Art.
· Rescuer
Donate $500 and receive 10% off at Sohn Fine Art for the remainder of 2020. This includes artwork purchases as well as printing and / or framing.
· Liberator
If you donate $2500 you will receive one photographic artwork of your choosing by Cassandra Sohn in any size up to 40” x 60”, a value of up to $5000.
· Savior
If you donate $10,000 or more you will receive an artwork of your choice by any artist Sohn Fine Art represents, plus 10% off at Sohn Fine Art for the remainder of 2020. The chosen artwork can have a retail value of up to $12,000. Said artist will receive commission for this artwork.
Sohn Fine Art is exploring every means of possible support and should additional resources of aid come through for us to help cover our expenses, or if we exceed our goals, we will give the excess funds to our artists.
We love our vibrant community and miss seeing and talking with you all, we feel so lucky to have such friendly and loyal supporters who have been there for the gallery over the years. With your support, we hope to be there for you once again when we are allowed to open the doors!
