Shannon Nelson Memorial Fund

Hi, my name is Caleb Nelson and my father, Shannon Nelson passed away on Friday March 22nd surrounded by his family. The last twelve months he has been battling a series of health complications involving kidney failure, a diabetic ulcer that progressed to 13 surgeries, 7 amputations to the lower limbs, 4 seizures, and 116 days straight in the hospital.

Due to the time he had to spend in the hospital or at various doctors appointments, he got laid off in April of 2023. After months of trying to get on disability we finally received his first disability check in November of 2023, but sadly with no backpay. Because of this long wait we couldn't keep up with his life insurance anymore. As we are trying to grieve we're found worrying about how we will be able to pay for all of the funeral expenses.

My family has always been able to figure it out on our own but this is something that we need help with. Any prayers, donations, and shares will be dearly appreciated from all of the Nelson family. Thank You.

For all of you that didn't know my dad as well as I did, he loved spending time with his three grandchildren (Wyatt, Braylynn, and Bentley). Watching his oldest son (Joshua) serve our country and become a father. Seeing his middle child (Caleb) play college football. Spoiling the hell out of his only daughter (Emmaly) while watching her cheer. He was also an avid bowler his whole life, you could always find him at one of the bowling alleys in Olathe making everyone around him laugh. But most importantly he loved spending time with his wife (Rebecca) camping, hosting barbecues, and traveling to bowling tournaments throughout the midwest together.
