Bami’s Story: 53 Days of Hope, Community, and Never Giving Up

On November 18, 2025, Bami went missing in Lynn Valley.

What followed were 53 long days of uncertainty, fear, hope, and perseverance.

Her owners, Yeni and Yohan, alongside Pet Searchers and so many members of the North Shore community, searched tirelessly—through rain, cold, and every kind of weather imaginable. Bami disappeared into the woods, and we can only imagine the many adventures and challenges she faced while surviving on her own.

Because Bami is extremely skittish, rescuing her was incredibly difficult. With the help of the community, there were sightings—just enough to keep hope alive—but every attempt required patience, coordination, and unwavering belief. And still, no one gave up.

Finally, on January 10, 2026, after 53 days, Petsearchers Canada guided the owners to Bami’s location. After nearly 2 months of being separated Bami stopped running and was calmly reunited with her parents.

This wasn’t luck.

This was community, dedication, and never stopping believing.

Most importantly it was through the unwavering dedication of Yeni and Yohan. They persevered with the emotional rollercoaster as they worked tirelessly to bring Bami home.

This story is a reminder of what’s possible when people come together with compassion and determination. It’s a true community miracle.

Now begins the next chapter: recovery.

Bami will need veterinary care, assessments, and follow-up treatments after everything her body has endured. On top of that, there were significant costs associated with the extensive search efforts that made her rescue possible.
