creo questa raccolta fondi principalmente per amici, ma chiunque voglia partecipare è il benvenuto.

Come ogni anno, in occasione del mio compleanno, organizzo una raccolta fondi invitando gli amici a non fare regali o altre spese, ma a devolvere quanto avrebbero speso a una buona causa.

Bambini del Madagascar è una onlus fondata anni fa da una persona a me molto vicina, che vi dedica il 100% del proprio impegno. Le immagini presenti sulla pagina sono state scattate dalle suore che vivono sul posto e che, grazie agli aiuti di Bambini del Madagascar, sono riuscite a creare pozzi, acquistare sacchi di riso, vestire i bambini e persino costruire una scuola, oggi intestata ai principali benefattori, i miei nonni Ida e Ferruccio, tristemente scomparsi quest’anno.

La situazione è di estrema povertà: i bambini camminano chilometri a piedi scalzi, e per loro piccoli oggetti come palloncini, scarpe di gomma da pochi centesimi o persino scarpe di legno legate con corde rappresentano una gioia immensa. Questi piccoli doni cambiano la loro vita quotidiana in modi che spesso chi vive altrove fatica a immaginare.

Mantenere un bambino per un anno costa 110 euro, più o meno l’equivalente di una spesa settimanale.

So bene che esistono moltissime onlus e tante cause meritevoli, e che è difficile affezionarsi a una realtà se non la si vede con i propri occhi. Con questa raccolta spero di riuscire a trasmettervi proprio questo legame.

Good morning,

I am creating this fundraiser mainly for friends, but anyone who wants to participate is welcome.

As every year, on the occasion of my birthday, I organize a fundraiser inviting friends not to give gifts or spend money on other things, but to donate what they would have spent to a good cause.

Bambini del Madagascar is a nonprofit organization founded years ago by someone very close to me, who dedicates 100% of their effort to it. The images on the page were taken by the nuns living on site who, thanks to the help from Bambini del Madagascar, have been able to dig wells, buy sacks of rice, provide clothing for children, and even build a school, now dedicated to the main benefactors, my grandparents Ida and Ferruccio, who sadly passed away this year.

The situation is extremely poor: children walk kilometers barefoot, and for them even small objects like balloons, rubber shoes costing just a few cents, or wooden shoes tied with strings bring immense joy. These small gifts can transform their daily lives in ways that are hard to imagine for those of us living elsewhere.

Supporting a child for one year costs 110 euros, roughly the equivalent of a weekly grocery shopping.

I know well that there are many nonprofits and worthy causes, and it can be hard to feel connected to an organization without seeing it with your own eyes. Through this fundraiser, I hope to convey that very connection.
