Help Us Heal Bambi

Bambi got hit by a car and damaged her pelvis and bladder. She is currently at the hospital which gives us a crazy new bill every day. So far probably around 3k has gone toward just trying to figure out what exactly is wrong and how to fix it (x-rays, consultations, ultrasounds, medication, &fees). I suspect they charge for every breath she takes even though it isn’t on any invoice we’ve gotten just yet. The vet we are currently seeing is recommending surgery which is estimated to cost 5-7k although we have not gotten a solid answer yet. Her mommies are students who don’t have that type of money just laying around so help is appreciated. Bambi is super sweet and spunky. She is very quiet, never barks, and likes going to the dog park and weaving and bobbing away from dogs who are chasing her. She’s very stealthy. She always ends up just sniffing around the park alone while other dogs play which we think is super cute and badass and empowering haha. And she hates the sound Zzzzzzz for some reason so when you do it she gives you the stink eye and meanders into another room. She has a squeaky lion and and fox (although she really just prefers the lion and takes no interest in the fox) and when she wants to play she nudges it against your leg desperately. She also is very intuitive to when I am sad or stressed and is always there for me. And she gets me out of the house early in the morning and all throughout the day. Anyway, we just love her and want her to be ok!! It’s sad to see her so disabled when she was just standing on my head licking my face Monday morning, and it's even sadder that money plays a such a big role in the care that she gets for her injuries. Just to clarify, her life is not in danger. She is able to recover fully but only with proper treatment.
