“I said certified Queen, seven days a week, black and melanin confidence on fleek!”
These are lyrics from a song I want to produce to spark creativity, promote a positive image and create some digital fun for my daughters, niece, and friends.
Like most kids my girls like doing fun dance videos on social media, but it’s hard finding age appropriate content so I decided to create it myself. I wrote a fun remix to the song WAP (explicit song, so listen at your own risk). The song is titled BAM which stands for black and melanin. Think of it as the kids bop version of WAP with a queen/wakanda twist!
I then decided to take it a step further by allowing them to rap, record, and film a video. A lot is going on with black and brown people in America right now and I was starting to see that energy weigh heavily on my daughters. I wanted a fun outlet to just be kids and spark some creativity.
What better way to do that than through music! That’s where you come in. We need your help to pay for the costs of producing a beat, studio time to record, videographer, wardrobe, studio rental, and props.
We are extremely grateful for ANY amount. Thanks in advance for your help!
