Please help us fund Balto's cancer surgery!
In a routine check-up in November, a lime-sized tumor was found on Balto’s left scent gland. Even in the short time since it has grown, and a biopsy has shown it to be malignant.
After a lot of thought and deliberation we’ve decided that, though this cancer will eventually run it’s course, the best way to ensure Balto the best end of life we can give him is to have this tumor removed.
This will give us 1-2 years with him; without treatment he likely has as little as six months. Removing the tumor will also help his golden years to be as healthy as possible, as it will take away the possibility of it blocking his ability to…well, poop!
Balto is aware that something is going on back there, but he doesn’t seem to be in pain or discomfort so far, thankfully. He is the most gentle, kind and lovely dog who has ever lived, and we are doing everything to keep him happy and comfortable.
We are asking for your kind donations to help us afford the surgery and care going forward over the coming months. Anything you might be able to spare for the Balto cause would be very deeply appreciated!!
