This June I will travel to rural Ireland for two weeks, to study landscape painting. I have created this GoFundMe page in order to generate financial support for my trip.
I am a landscape painter from Perth, Western Australia, with an ongoing practice engaged in and around the Swan River, as well as up and down the coast of WA. My interest in the historical traditions of Australian Landscape Painting shall equip me as I visually investigate the village of Ballycastle, on the sea coast of North County Mayo, in the Republic of Ireland.
At the workshop (from the 18th June - 2nd of July 2019) Randall Exon & Jeffrey Reed will provide my tuition. Professor Randall Exon is the Sara Lawrence Lightfoot Professor of Studio Art at Swarthmore College, Philadelphia, USA. He shows at Hirschl & Adler Modern Gallery on 5th Avenue, New York. He undertook a fellowship and residency at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in 1998 where he now returns to offer workshops each year. Professor Jeffrey Reed is an Associate Professor of Art at the Community College of Philadelphia. He shows at Gross McCleaf Gallery on Sixteenth Street, Philadelphia. He received his MFA at the University of Pennsylvania and his BFA at the Maryland Institute of Art and was granted a fellowship and residency at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in 2000.
For you my friends who are always asking me what I have coming up next, you can appreciate how excited I am to participate in this workshop. Through this GoFundMe page I aim to generate interest in this upcomming experience, in these yet to be painted works, and in my artistic development, all in good faith. If you have ever observed my work or felt a connection with what I am doing, or if you would just like to encourage me then this is a great opportunity for you to get involved. It costs $3,500.00 US dollars to attend the workshop and $1,500.00 AU for my return trip to Ireland.
My gratitude for your financial support will be realised upon my return where everyone who pledges one hundred and fifty dollars or more will acquire an original artwork, which I will create in-situ, while studying in Ballinglen.
Pledges of $150: Works on Paper (en plein air*)

Pledges of $250: Oil painting (en plein air*) 30cm wide (framed)

Pledges of $500: Oil painting (en plein air*) 60cm wide (framed)

$800: Oil painting (Studio work developed from en plein air* sketches and other observational media) 100cm wide (framed)

The works will be offered to everyone on a first to pledge basis. The price includes postage anywhere in Australia (minimum postage costs will be added to funders from overseas) with delivery of artwork between July and October 2019.
All funding will need to be finalised and payed by the end of March 2019.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my GoFundMe page, and for considering to offer your support.
