Hello, my name is Maria Tian, and I am 14 years old.

First, I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. Starting this upcoming semester, I will begin a new school year training at the American Ballet Theatre’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School in New York City.

Ballet has been a part of my life since I was three years old, and it has truly shaped me into the person and dancer I am today. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to train at ABT, it’s a dream come true and a huge step forward in my journey as a dancer.

Living and training in New York City still comes with many expenses. This will be my third consecutive year at ABT, but unfortunately, my family is having a difficult time to continue to afford the cost of housing. My older sister Emma was born with autism, and as a result, my mother had to leave her job to care for her full time. This has made our financial situation even more difficult.

That’s why I’m reaching out to ask for your support. Any contribution would mean the world to me and would help ease the financial burden on my parents.
