Ballard Family Funeral Expenses

Due to a lapse in life insurance coverage, my dad’s current policy only went into effect in August 2020. He was diagnosed w/pancreatic cancer on October 10th, 2020 and passed this past Wednesday (4/7/2021). He was insured from 2009-2019, but there is somehow a 7 month lapse. The immaturity of the current active policy means it is ‘contestable’ and will not pay out until an investigation of his past health records is complete and they find the paperwork submitted to be truthful. This may take months, if it pays out at all. In the meantime to secure arrangements with the funeral home, we are struggling to cover costs out of pocket. I’ve created this in an attempt to assist in covering these costs. Any amount helps, no matter how small. It has not been easy for me to navigate this situation and I absolutely do not ever like asking anyone for assistance with financial matters, but this is my current reality.
