- Hi fellow dog lovers my name is Sandy Hunt I am from Australia and I fund my own dog rescue in Ungusan Bali. Our dogs have been and still are in consistent danger from the our neighbours who want us gone due the them building new villa's right beside our land. Our dogs have been for the past few months in constant danger as we have had poisonous baits thrown over the fences to begin the elimination of as many dogs they can. This is a common practice that is used in Bali. They have also begun to set snares on the perimeter of the land outside the rescue. The snares they build are of a fine wire with a one way direction when a dog is caught in them. The fine wire used is designed to continue to tighten until the wires are embedded so tightly that with every resisting movement by the dog it slices through so deeply into the dog's throat until it causes death. As the dog's are caught they automatically go into a heightened panic to free themselves, but there is no way out. Our live on site carer ADI works non stop trying to keep our dogs safe and secure. With the brutal storms and flooding over the past few months ADI works endlessly fixing damaged fences to keep our dogs secure. Due to the ongoing storm some of our dogs have escaped our yards, ADI found one of our little girls caught in a snare, fortunately he got to her in time. ADI and the dogs are living in hell, fearful of what's going to happen next.
There is a + we have rural land just waiting for us to have enough funds to build a safe and secure haven for all 85 dogs. Bali Dog fight to survive and Mia's healing sanctuary are on the same property and we will all be moving to singaraja together.
