Help over 50 Babies in Bali and Java

Donation protected
Hello, I’m Lucy a volunteer and now creator and coordinator of the volunteer scheme at Bali Baby Home and soon to be at Jogja Baby Home. After spending January and May - July 2024 volunteering at Bali Baby Home in Indonesia, I’m excited to share that I’ll be returning in May 2025 to continue my support. I will also be flying to a new orphanage called Jogja Baby Home located in Java, an island that holds the largest population in Indonesia and is predicted to expand rapidly. While there, I’ll be helping to cover costs, assisting in setting up a new volunteer program, and most importantly, giving my love and physical help to the babies and staff

How You Can Help:
I’m raising funds to support Bali Baby Home and the newly opened Jogja Baby Home which are both Non profit organisations. The money will go toward essential medical bills, supplies for the homes, and most importantly, supporting the children's development. This includes funding activities such as outings to soft play, the beach, and the zoo, as well as providing new toys, books, and crafts to stimulate and educate the children. With now more than 40 Babies, aged under 3 I want to help them experience the world outside the orphanage, create new memories, and have access to resources that help them grow. Your donations will make all of this possible and more.

About Bali Baby Home and Jogja Baby Home:
In 2021, Mr. Burhan founded Bali Baby Home, taking in his first newborn, which led to the welcoming of over 50 children to date. The home also provides a safe space for expecting mothers. Sadly, due to a cultural taboo surrounding children born out of wedlock in Bali, many babies are abandoned in unsafe conditions. Bali Baby Home gives these children a chance at a better future, either by reuniting them with their biological mothers (if possible) or providing them a safe home if that’s not feasible.

Since starting the volunteer program last June we have successfully hosted over 40 volunteers. The older children have started speaking English and all the children have made huge improvements in their development. They spend less time confined in a playpen and now enjoy more freedom and stimulation, playing in a newly built nursery-style area downstairs. This area was made possible thanks to generous donations from visitors, volunteers and online donations, and it has been a huge boost for the children’s socialisation and development.
The orphanage is still growing, and we’re also supporting the new Jogja Baby Home in Java which hosts the largest population in Indonesia and is predicted to grow at a rapid rate, they will need continuous support to provide essential care and opportunities for the children there.

Volunteer Opportunities:
I’m excited to announce that we are currently looking for volunteers to help out at both homes. If you’re interested in volunteering, you can apply through Worldpackers or feel free to contact me directly for more information on how you can get involved. Volunteering at these homes is a truly rewarding experience, and your help will make a huge difference in the lives of the children.

Why Your Support Matters:
While the babies’ basic needs are being met at both orphanages, the focus of my fundraising efforts is to enhance their developmental and social opportunities. The funds raised will cover the costs of activities like trips to soft play centers, the zoo, and other educational outings. We’ll also use the money to purchase new educational toys, books, and supplies that will help stimulate the children’s minds and promote healthy development.
Your donations will go directly toward supporting both Bali Baby Home and Jogja Baby Home.

What Your Donations Did Last Year:
Thanks to your incredible support through last year’s GoFundMe, which raised over £1200, the day-to-day life for the children at Bali Baby Home improved massively. I could write an essay on all the positive changes that happened during my stay, but to keep this message short, here’s a list of just some of the things we were able to do and purchase with your generous donations:
* An outing for the 4 oldest children to Bali Zoo
* Several trips to Soft play centres
* DOUBLED the size of their everyday playpen
* Flew a 35KG case full of toys, books, crafts, puzzles, and musical instruments
* Purchased a 6-seater kids-sized crafts/activity table
* Purchased a full toy kitchen with roleplay plates, food, shopping cart, etc.
* Purchased a large toy storage unit
* Purchased Indonesian kids’ books as well as English ones
* Purchased £400 worth of toys, outdoor play equipment, paddling pool, crafts, sensory toys, games, balls, etc., in Bali
* Took lots of children swimming on numerous occasions
* Purchased a kids’ height standing bookshelf
* Purchased kids’ swimwear, armbands, and floats
* Purchased several play-mats for the younger babies
* Purchased a night lamp/projector to give the newborns some ceiling stimulation
* Purchased 3 pop-up tents/houses for roleplay
* Several coffee rounds for the staff/babysitters
* And so much more!!!!!
These changes have made a huge difference to the children's lives, and none of this would have been possible without your support. Thank you so much for helping us create a better environment for these incredible kids!

I’ll be posting updates on my social media about the activities and items purchased with your generous donations. Please follow along at @lucyall3n.x or check out Bali Baby Home’s regular updates on instagram @Balibabyhome for their latest news and photos.

Thank you so much for your kind support!
