Hi, I’m Leah — a stay-at-home mom of two young boys in Huntington Beach. During nap times, while cooking dinner, and in between the chaos of daily life, I started building something from my kitchen table…
A children’s book called Baldy’s America - an interactive finger-puppet board book for babies and toddlers (ages 0–3).
It features a soft bald eagle puppet built into the pages, allowing parents to guide Baldy as he “flies” across scenes inspired by America the Beautiful, written by Katharine Lee Bates.
It’s meant to be read… or sung, which turns storytime into literacy, music, and connection.
My goal is simple:
To keep an innocent love and appreciation for America alive in young children. I believe if children grow up loving the beauty of their country, they’ll grow up wanting to care for it.
Baldy is more than one book.
Future stories will take Baldy:
- Across national parks
- Through Washington, D.C.
- Into American history in fun, age-appropriate ways
Where We Are Now:
Baldy is in the startup phase. The prototype is complete, and the vision is clear — but I need support to bring it to life.
Funds will go toward:
- Final illustrations
- Safety testing (ages 0–3)
- First production run of 500 books
If this resonates with you:
- ❤️ Donate any amount
- Share with others
- Connect me with someone who believes in projects like this
With your support, Baldy can become something that reaches families for years to come.
Thank you so much ❤️
— Leah
