My name is Vanessa Kobilis, and I grew up in Old Shasta, CA where much of the devastation of the Carr Fire occurred.  I have worked for the Federal Government for almost 20 years and during that time have helped manage Wildland Fires for 15+ years, supporting the "boots on the ground".  My Dad, John "Chip" Balboa, is a long-time resident of Old Shasta and one of the many victims of the Carr Fire, having lost everything he owns.  He is on a fixed income through disability and in need of financial assistance until he is able to navigate through the rebuilding process.  My Dad lives in pain daily with his disability, and a supportive mattress is key in allowing him to be able to move around and function.  The money provided will go towards replacing some of the most basic needs that were lost, food, and a place to sleep.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to help ends meet.  If there are any un-used funds, they will be donated to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation and other charities that are directly helping the families we know that are impacted by this Fire. We truly appreciate the support and love shown during this difficult journey.
