Balboa Cafe

Balboa is currently operating pick-up and delivery orders Wednesday – Sunday with a very small crew of managers and support staff. The rest of our staff is currently out of work due to the COVID-19 mandates, thus not receiving a pay check. For many of our hourly employees this is a dire situation. Many have families and are now unable to provide basic necessities.

Balboa is a San Francisco institution that has been at the corner of Fillmore and Greenwich for more than a century. The appeal of the Balboa to many is not just its familiar architecture and interiors; its signature dishes and cocktails; but the welcoming and approachable staff who have connected with so many of our guests, whether first-timers or regulars. Please help us get relief to some of these employees who we desperately need to come back to the Balboa to make it what it is today, and for the future.

100% of the donations from this page will be distributed to all employees who are currently not working due to the current stay-at-home order and the partial closure of the Balboa Cafe.  We thank you for your support and appreciate any contribution you can make towards this fund.  We are hopeful that our community stays healthy and safe, and we look forward to seeing everyone when we are able to re-open our doors.
