Baker McKenzie Fluency supports Klabu
Donation protected
We are excited to be supporting KLABU at this year's EMEA Fluency+ Tournament. KLABU is a young and ambitious global social start-up charity, that is on a mission to make a difference. The Amsterdam-based organisation, use the power of sport to support refugees who are rebuilding their lives, and their goal is to reach 1 million refugees by 2030. By actively running 50+ KLABU sports clubs in refugee camps, they aim to become the biggest club in the world.
If we can support KLABU with a collective donation of EUR 10,000, we could help them:
• Support their clubhouse in Boa Vista, Brazil, where around 1,500 indigenous Venezuelans enjoy sport activities, music and broadcast sports games. Through it, KLABU are improving their mental and physical well-being and enable refugee self-reliance with the involvement of community volunteers.
• Refurbish and improve the existing sports facilities to have better playing conditions for the avid footballers, volleyball players and baseball lovers.
• Introduce a train the trainers program for our community volunteers to learn essential skills to run the project and transmit them to the younger generations.
• Add good quality equipment to the sports library so that more people can access sport.
• Build a safe space around the clubhouse for socializing, studying and recovery before and after the sports activities.
• Expand the project beyond just sport and introduce music and art activities to make it a more holistic environment.
