Baker Farm (Lirra) Bushfire

Fires swept through Cobargo and surrounding areas on the 31st December 2019.
Jenny, Denis and their dog Holly evacuated their Yowrie farm (Lirra) in the early hours of the morning after making the difficult decision that they would be unable to defend the property given the ferocity of the fires.

The fires were devastating and have taken the house, sheds, tractor and much of the livestock. 

We have been contacted by people looking to help directly in some way, so have decided to facilitate donations that can be put towards the following:
- Clothes, food and essentials for Jenny and Denis; 
- Feed and veterinary care for the surviving livestock;
- Repairing of fences, water/irrigation systems, demolition and clean-up.

Some time is needed to think about the future, whether to rebuild and what that might look like however in the short term much work is needed to sift through debris and salvage any remaining remnants of their lives.
