Hi family + friends!
Dale and I have had the opportunity to be apart of volunteer house building projects in Baja, Mexico the past few summers. We have fallen in love with the people and the place! We would absolutely love to go back and serve a family in Baja again this summer but we need help raising the money to go as well as for the building materials to actually build a home for the family in need. We will be going August 16th-19th.
On these trips we partner with Baja Bound Ministries whose mission is to build homes for the working poor of Baja. They intentionally select a family who is in need of a home. Many of the working poor in Baja work 8-12 hours day and making as little as $3-$5/day. Many families are living in homes they have built out of trash, sticks or pretty much anything they can find. This absolutely breaks our hearts which is why we continue to go back. It would mean the world to us for any support you can give! Whether it be prayers and/or financially.
It is hard to fathom that this kind of poverty is happening so close to home (only 90 miles south from San Diego!). We would love you to partner with us and help us serve and bless a family in need of a safe and warm place to call home. We are trying to reach a goal of $3000, which covers the both of us to go ($300/each for food, housing, gas, etc.) and then a personal goal of $2400 for building materials to start. However, we can always raise more than that. As a building team, we need to raise $8000 for the building materials so any extra donations beyond our goal are also appreciated! We need to raise all of the money by August 1st.
We believe God calls each of us to serve and love the poor, and what a great opportunity to do so!
"For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land." Deuteronomy 15:11 ESV
We are confident that God will provide for this family in need and we would love for you to be apart of making this house building project happen. If you have any questions or would like to know more about our time in Baja please don't hestitate to contact Dale or myself. We know not everyone is in a place to give financially so we just ask that you please be praying for the family, the team going and Baja Bound ministries. Thank you + God bless!
