Hello everyone!

My name is Laima I'm Human momma to my little baby 10 Month old puppy Baily!

In the past few days Baily had a stroke from a condition we never heard of called Lung worms! Dogs can get them if they eat infected Snails larvae or grass where the snails have went over!

She was on 21/05 at 4am rushed to a private out of hours vet hospital because our vet was closed at that time! She showed signs of poisoning at first,she wasn't responding to anything we said,womiting and weeing herself constantly ,drooling excessively and felt like she was paralyzed because she couldn't stand or move any part of her body,so we wasn't sure what happened! The vets kept her till the evening,doing blood and urine tests ,the blood tests showed that she has Lung worms! They prescribed her medication,and recommended for her to stay there over night,but as it was a private clinic we physicaly couldn't afford it as we paid the bill over 1.1k and that was all our savings! I feel bad because I was so occupied and never tough of anything like that happening that we didn't take out insurance on time for her!

We took her home the same evening and kept monitoring her,until morning of 22/05 there were no signs of improvement,she didn't eat or drink but she was weeing,only communication from her was a happy tail wag and eye rolling as that was only thing she could move! I noticed that her left eye has a bleed on it and she was constantly trying to sleep to the left side tilting her head,as soon as I tried to put it other way,she was resisting and it went back to left side! I didn't know if she's in pain or no,as she wasn't even whining or barking,just laying there on her bed paralyzed,she didn't sleep at all since the 21st 4am, all the littlest sounds she was reacting to by startling herself!

I couldn't bare to see her that way and I called PDSA in the morning! We managed to get emergency appointment for her,once we took her in she was seen by a vet and they said they have never seen a case this bad from lung worms! She was kept there over night for observations put on a drip and pain relief ,few hours later the vet called and said she has settled in and was asleep,and that they did some research and found in cases similar to this dogs can be treated with steroids and opioids,but she will still be monitored till the morning! I had a sigh of relief,as she was sleeping and not in pain!

The next morning (today 23/05) I got a call from the vets! There are no signs of improvement,just her eyes stopped flickering but her body is still unresponsive and can't move! The vet said they will keep monitoring her ,if she doesn't improve even a little by evening time we will have to go in and discuss options of next steps! Either she will be transfered to a private clinic for what we have to pay and do further tests and MRI that costs up to 4k,or worst case scenario will have to put her to sleep!

We are really heartbroken that our baby's condition is so bad and we can't afford her future treatments,so I'm begging ,please help my baby get the life saving tests and treatments,I feel bad asking for help but it's the only option what we had,as our finances are low,her human dad lost his job few weeks ago and her 2 big human brothers and 2 year old sister miss her at home so much and are heartbroken for her!

Even if you cant help I appreciate any prayers or any further word about this type of condition (Lung worms) as lots of people don't know about it and can save their dog babys life if the worst happens!
