Our hearts are shattered as we say goodbye to our beautiful Bailey.
At just 28 years old, Bailey Mathis brought light, laughter, and unconditional love to everyone lucky enough to know her. She had a way of making every person feel special — with her radiant smile, her big hugs, her wild and joyful spirit. As her family prepares to honor her life next week in Blair, Nebraska, we are asking for support to help cover the costs of her service, and to ease the financial burden on her loved ones as they navigate this unimaginable loss.

Remembering Bailey’s Life
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Bailey Mathis, age 28, of Omaha, Nebraska, who left us far too soon on September 17, 2025.
Funeral services will be held in Blair, Nebraska next week, with more information to come as dates and times are finalized. Graveside services will follow at the Blair Cemetery.
Bailey was born on April 29, 1997 in West Point, Nebraska, the daughter of Brenda Mathis. She attended Wisner-Pilger Schools and graduated in 2015. During her high school years, she thrived as part of the dance and cheer team, played sports, and built lifelong friendships that she treasured deeply.
After high school, Bailey studied at the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a focus in the medical field and began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked at Methodist Hospital in several departments before achieving her dream job at Children’s Hospital in the Hematology and Oncology Departments, where she brought comfort, compassion, and joy to children and their families every single day.
Bailey lived life to the fullest. She loved to dance and sing, belt out karaoke, attend concerts and Husker games, and play golf. She had a contagious laugh, an incredible eye for fashion, and a special love for Dolly Parton. She was one of the kindest and most loving souls you could ever meet—someone who made every person feel seen, valued, and loved.

“A wild mountain rose
Needing freedom to grow
So I ran fearing not where I’d go
When a flower grows wild
It can always survive
Wildflowers don’t care where they grow.”

Bailey is survived by her mother Brenda Mathis; sisters Hayden and Jocelyn; brothers Jonathan, Jordan, and Jace; grandparents Patty and Allen Hanson and Doug Chudomelka; her extended family, countless friends, and her beloved fur-baby Poppy.
As her family navigates this unimaginable loss, we are asking for your support to help ease the financial burden of funeral and memorial expenses. Donations will directly assist with the cost of Bailey’s service, and anything beyond what is needed will go toward supporting her loved ones as they move through this heartbreaking time.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and love during this difficult time. Please keep Bailey’s family in your thoughts and prayers as they grieve and remember the bright light she was to us all.

Forever dancing, forever singing, forever in our hearts.
