First, thank you for visiting this campaign.
Two very dear friends and their families have been stricken with disaster and could use everyone who happens upon this campaigns help. On Thursday, June 22nd, Bailey Anne Peden was admitted into Chadron Community Hospital for what seemed to be a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst. After her treatment and release Sunday, June 25th, Bailey lost consciousness and was rushed back to the hospital for emergency surgery. Bailey Maintained massive blood loss from a ruptured vessel leading to her spleen, and for 5 brief minutes was gone from our world. Fortunately, thanks to the medical staff's quick reaction Baily was resuscitated. With the surgery a seeming success, Bailey is now awake and aware and is accompanied by her loving partner Tanner Johns and her parents, Laura and Cabot Peden.
As trying as times are nowadays it is difficult for a young couple to rebound from such a tragic event. Such miraculous results do not come without a price. Bailey may have more unforeseen complications and necessary treatments to come.
To show my gratitude to such an amazing couple and family, I have pledged myself and my motorcycle to aid in her recovery the only way I know how.
The campaign I have started is a simple way to re-pay Bailey and Tanner their kindness and friendship while allowing others to participate.
The "Iron Butte Tour" is my take on the classic motorcycle tradition of "Iron Butt". For those of you who may not know, an Iron Butt tour is a pilgrimage a motorcycle rider takes. The goal of the tour is to ride a motorcycle 1000 miles within 24 hours. Many riders take this tour for bragging rights, spiritual upliftment, and (in this case) a good cause for others.
The "Iron Butte Tour" will take place Saturday July 1st at 7:00 a.m. (pledges start now) and will be a four or five stop trip taking place in five states: Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, and Kansas. Within these states, I will be visiting natural local and national monuments including but not limited to: Bear Butte (SD), Devil's Tower (WY), Pawnee Buttes (CO), and Monument Rocks (KS). If time permits I will also be visiting Scottsbluff national monument in Nebraska. All four of the listed monuments are within the 1000-mile threshold which will be the primary goal. From there, I will make the judgment to continue on to Scottsbluff and from there home, bringing the total mileage of the tour to 1310 miles within 24 hours.
The way this is designed to work as a fundraiser is as follows:
For every goal mile ridden, patrons will pledge a small sum of money to accumulate as I reach the goal of 1000 miles.
Example: patron pledges $0.05 per goal mile and their total donated would be $50.00.
This just being an outlet where such algorithms can't be applied, stock donations of $10, $20, $50, etc. would be more than appreciated. I do it this way so other patrons, not comfortable with this form of donating, can still participate from other social media outlets and so that every penny is earned.
Every cent of this effort will be donated to Bailey and Tanner's financial recovery efforts as well as paying for any medical expenses accumulated down the road.
Please show the love these two individuals have shown me by helping them in their time of need. If a donation cannot be made you can still do your part by sharing this campaign with the others around you. Every little bit will help so please do not feel like you can’t afford to.
Thank you all for visiting this campaign. Your contribution will not go without gratitude and you will know you did your part for making a young person’s future a little brighter.
