Bailey Grady’s Cancer Journey
Donation protected
Hi my name is Shannon and we have started this to help my daughter Bailey Rae and her little family.
Here is her story:
Bailey Rae Ann Grady has begun a journey that nobody wants to travel.
I’m going to give you a timeline of what she has dealt with.
18 months ago she had melanoma removed on her right arm. Shortly there after a benign meningioma was discovered on her brain. They (her and Tyler Grady) along with doctors were looking into surgery to remove due to growth.
Around the 2nd week of January she began not feeling well. 3 lumps appeared on the left side of her neck. She seen her primary and an ultrasound was done. Lymph nodes were enlarged so she began a round of antibiotics. He felt she was fighting an infection. By the following week a new larger and painful one appeared. With in 24 hours a relatively high fever began. On Monday January 29th she drove herself to the emergency room to seek help with the fever and illness.
The emergency doctor was on his toes and had a ct scan done. She was then told that a few of her lymph nodes had signs of necrosis. At that time they thought her melanoma had metastasized. He made several calls and got her scheduled with her previous surgical oncologist for the following Monday. She had a P.E.T. scan on Friday February 2nd. That night we were able to see the written impression by the radiologist… it didn’t look very positive. Saturday February 3rd her sister in law called and checked on her and knew she wasn’t getting any better. Klint N Nicole DesLaurier drove her to the emergency room. She was then admitted the evening of February 3rd. They put her in the oncology wing. On Monday February 5th she had a needle biopsy of the lymph nodes on the left side of her neck. Her fever was over 102 and had been for over a week. Thursday February 8th we were informed that her melanoma had not spread but she did however have a type of t-cell lymphoma. They scheduled and preformed a lymph node removal on Friday 2/9. They needed to test deeper to see what kind of t-cell it is and the stage. Tuesday 2/13 she got the confirmation and had bone marrow test plus a port put in her chest. They believe it’s in her bone marrow due to being unable to draw what they needed. The final stage results will be back in a couple weeks.
