Bailee Sunday and Zeus

I’m the ‘Dog Mom’ of Zeus technically, I got him for Christmas in 2020 and fell in love with his cute, fuzzy little face the moment I saw him. I have wanted a dog for a long time and finally my parents allowed me to get one. Zeus is my free therapist, cuddle buddy, bestie, confidant, and fellow book-lover. He has been my absolute best friend since that first day and we are very bonded to each other; he waits at the door for me to return from school and follows me everywhere. He turned 2 years old on May 9, 2022 and has lots of life left in him, if I can get him this surgery. An agreement I made with my parents to have the dog is that this dog was my responsibility. My parents have helped financial and have reached what they can afford to spend, my mom has gotten sick and has medical bills and my dad is still recovering from an accident that had happened earlier. That was the condition on getting a puppy, is that he would be my responsibility, and I would have to care for him fully.
In March we took Zeus to a grooming salon and the groomer cut his private part, it looks awful. My parents and I have spoken with the owner of the business and the groomer and the owner have refused to help us pay the vet bills. It has been a long process to get him feeling better; he has had to go through one surgery already, and has seen his primary vet multiple times. On May 10 we had to take him to a specialist in Salt Lake City, to try to get this fixed so he can live a comfortable life, where he can actually go to the restroom without being in pain. When we went to the specialist’s office, we found out he has a horrible urinary tract infection that has to go away before the operation. We are treating him with antibiotics and we also have to feed him soft, bland foods like unseasoned chicken, and plain white rice. We have to make sure that Zeus has no infection before we can take him in to have the operation completed. The operation will metaphorically turn him into a girl, and it will cost around $4000-$5000 is the estimated price, which I will no way have enough money to pay for that, plus I also owe over $1700 in vet bills, just from this year and I’ve already spent over $800 in previous vet bills. If this operation cannot be done, we will have to put him down and that will just break my heart.

I’m only thirteen and I currently work two jobs to pay his bills while also going to school in the meantime. I am hoping anyone who loves animals will help me so I do not lose my best friend.
