Students from the Saint Louis University community from the organizations: MESA, AIO, ISA, PSA, AAA, ASA, BHSA, BSA, FSA, VSA and OASIS, have teamed together to lead this initiative in raising donations for the nonprofit called The Bail Project STL. 

The Bail Project is a organization with a mission to combat mass incarceration and reshape the pretrial system in the United States. In light of the current injustice in the US, we feel that it is imperative to come together and fight back, specifically by raising funds for those in our local community who are wrongfully incarcerated. Black people are incarcerated in U.S. state prisons at more than five times the rate of white people. People in pretrial detention now make up more than two-thirds of America’s jail population. They are presumed innocent under the law, yet they will suffer the harms of incarceration unless they have enough money to pay bail and buy their freedom. This mass incarceration affects entire communities, devastates families for generations, and guts the presumption of innocence. The Bail Project raises funds to pay bail and legal fees for the wrongfully incarcerated.

The fight against racism isn’t over. Join us to raise awareness and funds for this organization. All proceeds will go towards The Bail Project STL where 100% of money gathered by The Bail Project is used to pay bail for incarcerated individuals. In addition, each dollar raised will get matched by an employee at WWT.
