Robby's medical expenses

Donation protected
On September 24th, Robby Rosenau was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident. Robby was on his way to visit his daughter in Branson, MO when his vehicle traveled off the roadway and became airborne. Robby was ejected from the vehicle when the car landed at the bottom of a steep embankment on some large rocks. Robby was pinned under the vehicle for 12 hours until he was found. He was then airlifted to Cox South hospital with significant injuries

Robby was in the Neuro Trauma Intensive Critical Unit for almost two weeks while doctors worked on getting him stable and assessed his injuries. Robby has significant injuries and he will have a long road to recovery ahead of him. As of now, doctors are aware of the following injuries: bleeding in the brain (two brain bleeds in the frontal lobe), extensive brain damage, fractures in spine, fractures in neck, broken sternum, broken ribs, fractured pelvis, and a fractured foot, along with several wounds and lacerations. Robby had surgery on his pelvis, where the surgeon placed a large rod. After surgery, Robby was placed on a ventilator following surgery. Robby has been in the hospital over three weeks.

Robby was recently transferred to a rehabilitation hospital where he will need an extensive amount of physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and cognitive therapy. Doctors tell family that Robby will need cognitive therapy for at least a year after he is released from rehab, along with extensive amounts of physical therapy and outpatient appointments. Doctors are unsure if the brain damage will be permanent or reversible at this time. Doctors are unable to tell family how long it will take for the brain bleeds to completely heal due to the extensive amount of trauma. Robby continues to fight each day to regain his strength/mobility and memory, as he eagerly awaits returning home.

Robby is a hard working man and a loving father to five children and four grandchildren. He has worked construction throughout his life and is member of local 1290. Robby was a Stewart on many job sites where he helped many families by raising money on his own time when tragedies happened. Robby lives in Cameron, MO and is very involved in the community. He volunteers at the YMCA, Food Pantry, Community Center where he helps elderly, and is an active member in church and helping those around him. He is known to be a person that is always a helping hand to anyone in need. Those of you that know Robby personally know that he is an independent, strong willed man that doesn’t give up. With the grace of God, Robby is still with us.

Fortunately, Robby’s children have been able to be with him every step of the way throughout his recovery. Please continue to pray and support Robby as he eagerly awaits returning home and his journey to recovery. Although it remains unclear the cause of the accident, the family was informed that within the past two years six other accidents have occurred in the same location resulting in one fatality.

My name is Abby and I have been friends with Robby’s daughter Roenicka since we were in middle school. I helped set up this GoFundMe page while Robby’s children stay by his side in the hospital. All proceeds will be going directly to Robby. This GoFundMe will hopefully help to cover some of the expenses that are piling up from his accident and assist him in a successful recovery.

Your donation will help Robby:
-Pay for medical bills and ongoing rehabilitation.
- Obtain a reliable vehicle for transportation for outpatient rehabilitation
-Living expenses until Robby recovers

By creating this campaign, it is my hope that we can ease the family's financial worries so they can focus on Robby’s recovery. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated. The family also wishes that you will keep Robby in your prayers. We will update you as soon as we have more information. Thank you and please share!
