Badass Needs New Wheelchair

Many of you know my mother Christi is in a wheelchair.
Many of you know her story – some of you don’t.
The Story:
In late 1996, my mother was diagnosed with stage 3B cervical cancer.
The doctors gave her a 50/50 chance of survival, so she opted for a very aggressive chemotherapy and radiation regimen. Fortunately, it was successful and she’s been cancer-free for 20 years.
At the time of the treatment, her oncologist informed her that due to the high levels of radiation used, she might develop complications later in life. Unfortunately, that came to pass.
Around 2008, she began experiencing numbness in her legs that progressively worsened. This was followed by radiation-induced plexopathy resulting in kidney and bladder failure – with severe nerve damage causing paralysis from the waist down. She has been completely wheelchair-bound since 2010.
Her current wheelchair is now nearly 9 years old. It’s time for something more modern, lightweight and nimble. Sadly, the cost of a new chair isn’t covered by Medicare (or Medicare supplemental insurance).
So here’s what we’re trying to get:

Seat Cushion - $300.00
Total price: $3158.50
We’re trying to raise the cost of the chair alone – we’ll have it custom-painted with flames and pentagrams on our own.
