My name is Chica and I'm the guard dog at Rancho Chilamate  here in  Nicaragua. I still can't believe I bit Sue from next door... but I DID! And I got her good. But it went bad, very bad. It didn't heal well [they say it's my old dog mouth] and then she had to have surgery to save her leg. Sue went to the hospital-for days and days. You should see the stitches!!

But now she has a hospital bill for $7,500 USD [that's $10k in Canada!] And Sue didn't have insurance. So our good neighbor helped by putting it on their credit card but now I need to find a way to pay them back!

Can you help an old girl out?

Just look at me when I first came to the ranch 9 years ago - all bright eyed and enthusiastic. My bark has always been bigger than my bite and I have rarely connected with anyone. Well I did get this police officer once years ago. And I have tapped the odd moto. But I digress.

I don't know what happened. I think Sue caught me sleeping on the job and I over reacted. Did I say I'm like 12 years old now. Might even be older.  

I am contemplating my future and whether or not I will have one but I'm extra grateful I'm not in Canada as I would be sleeping already.

In the meantime, there's a few things that I have learned the last few weeks:

1. Barking is better than biting. My biting days are over, I promise
2. My local friends treat bites with Neem Leaves crushed in Aloe [wish I knew that one sooner for Sue]
3. My expat friends should have health insurance for just these sort of things. I've heard there's a good one at the Military hospital in Managua. I'm going to have someone find the link and share it with you. be back to you soon.

p.s. by now, you know that i would be super powered if I got on the internet by myself to do this gofundme. So thank you to my owner Blue for making this happen. Each and every Canadian dollar [except the part that goes to GFM] will go to pay off the credit card debt. And as we all know, it has to be done quickly or there's that crazy interest. Must say, it look like it's difficult to be a human. But we love you for it.
