Help With Bacon's Medical Bills
Donation protected
On March 11, 2019, our Boston Terrier Bacon had a mass located on his side by our vet. On March 28, we took him in for surgery to have it removed, knowing that its size and location would likely mean some followup care in the form of close monitoring, radiation or chemotherapy.
We adopted Bacon at three-years-old from Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue , who had taken him in, put him through knee and palate surgery, and set him up with a loving foster mom in Michigan. We drove four hours unsure if he would be joining our family, but we instantly fell in love with the cuddle bug. Our other Boston, Mac, tolerated him — but was secretly enthralled for the company. Many people spent their time and effort and plenty of dollars were spent to give this dog a good life before he came to us, and we've worked every day to make him feel loved and wanted. He returns the favor — he gives us joy, laughs, comfort while in tears, the funny voices and silly songs you sing when you know people aren't around, and all the other small joys of having a furry family member.

There have been other health challenges with him but this has been the greatest so far. We're committed to doing right by him because he's done right by us — our priority is his quality of life and making sure Bacon still gets to be Bacon.
While we have some financial resources to dedicate to that cause, we're new homeowners and frankly our extra cash is limited. We know plenty of friends and loved ones in a similar situation and hate to ask at all, but if you can help us defray some of the veterinary costs we're building up, we'll be forever grateful. So will Bacon.
We'll be tracking Bacon's recovery and ongoing treatment on Instagram.
I'll be keeping a running documentation of his bills here.
Every dollar we raise beyond his expenses will be donated back to Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue, for the next family who wants to give a pup with medical expenses a second chance at a forever home.

Personally, it's very hard to ask for help in general and for monetary help in particular. But a good friend told me that sometimes you just have to ask — you never know who wants to show up to help. Please don't give anything you can't spare — we know everyone has their own problems. But anything, even good vibes and love for this annoying fart monster, makes a huge difference to all of us.
With love and thanks,
Mark, Laurie, Mac and Bacon
