Backyard Ultramarathon for Dementia Support
Tax deductible
On September 6th, 2025, I'll be running the Praire on Fire backyard ultramarathon in memory of my Mom, Anne Singh, who passed away from frontotemporal dementia 10 years ago.
She was an athlete, a nationally ranked gymnast, and I hope she'll be proud of my effort in this race.
A backyard ultramarathon is a race where you run a 4 and 1/6 mile loop every hour on the hour. So at 8 am, the first loop (called a yard) begins, and you have one hour to complete the distance. Then at 9 am you have to run it again. And it goes on and on until only one person is left. The reason for the specific distance of 4 and 1/6 miles is so that if you run for 24 hours you will complete 100 miles.
My aim is to go as far as I possibly can.
I appreciate any support to help make an impact for those suffering from dementia, and for helping make this race about something much bigger and more important than me.
Thank you.
