My sister Tammy became a widow and single mom to three teenagers this week when Michael (Mike) Backus, her husband of almost 19 years, died unexpectedly.   Mike was the primary breadwinner for his family and his death has left unplanned financial burdens.   I would like to give Tammy some relief from the financial uncertainty she is feeling.  She hopes to provide some normalcy to the children this summer prior to transitioning from her part-time job into full-time work.   Donations would cushion the immediate monetary hardships associated with memorial expenses, life incidentals, and mortgage.   

Thank you to all of the members of the community who have reached out with offers to help. The Backus and Heimerl families greatly appreciate all you are doing during this time of grief.    We feel so much love and support from the community we all call home.
