We are the team from the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (IIR KNU). We are honored to announce that we have qualified as one of the top two teams to represent Ukraine at the White & Case International Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C.
The Resilience Behind the Research
For law students in Ukraine, the "Jessup Season" is more than an academic challenge—it is a testament to resilience. Over the past year, our team has prepared for this intense competition under extraordinary circumstances: drafting memorials in basements and hallways during daily air raid, coordinating complex arguments while navigating power outages caused by attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Why the Jessup Matters
The Jessup is the world’s oldest and largest international moot court competition, bringing together students from nearly 700 law schools across 100 countries. For us, stepping onto the stage in Washington, D.C., is an act of legal diplomacy. It is a chance to showcase that even in the face of aggression, Ukraine’s future lawyers are world-class advocates dedicated to the principles of international justice.
How You Can Support Us
To reach Washington, D.C. in March/April 2026, we need to bridge the financial gap. Your donations will directly cover the essential costs for the students and our dedicated volunteer coaches: flights and international train fares, hotels, accommodation, and daily meals, visa fees and travel insurance.
By supporting our journey, you are not just funding a trip; you are investing in the next generation of legal experts who will one day lead Ukraine’s reconstruction and represent its interests in the world’s highest courts.
Thank you so much in advance!
