Let’s raise $2,500 for my collaborators on "Werk, Boogie: a one-lady show"!

Werk, Boogie is happening Saturday, November 7 at the Rat Theater in Brooklyn, and we are raising $2,500 to pay the artists and professionals helping bring the show to life, as well as to cover theater rental, materials, and transportation.

While completing my "Luv, Boogie" EP and working as a dancer and teacher, I became disabled. Pain impacted my mobility and creativity, but after a major surgery and some pain management, I wanted to figure out how I would perform in this different body.

At the same time, my next dance music EP was taking shape around the theme of work. I began conceptualizing ideas and writing lyrics. I was also getting inspired by drag artists and the way they perform original songs.

In July 2025, my teaching artist colleague Yolanda Kae posted on LinkedIn that her one-person show workshops had openings. I signed up and began crafting "Werk, Boogie" as a one-person variety show. We hosted an informal reading in October 2025 and received great feedback.

After much planning and work over the past year, Werk, Boogie: a one-lady show is premiering November 7.

But a one-person show is never produced by one person.

I’ve hired a director, prop designer, and visual/video producer, and we also need to cover theater rental, materials, and transportation. Help "Werk, Boogie" come alive by backing my crew!
