My name is Serah Khanyereri, and I recently took the step of turning professional and fully committing to my career in women's golf.

I am proud to share that I recently won my first professional tournament on the Sapphire Tour in Denver, Colorado. This milestone is the result of years of hard work, sacrifice, and belief, and it has brought me one step closer to my ultimate goal of competing on the LPGA Tour.

Like many early-career professional golfers, I am currently self-funding my journey—from tournament entry fees and travel to coaching, training, and equipment. Putting this out there isn't easy, but I believe in being transparent about the realities of chasing a dream. From Kenya to the professional golf stage in the United States, I am pursuing a dream that once felt impossible.

I am a Kenyan professional golfer currently competing in the United States, proudly representing Kenya and Africa in the sport. My journey began in Kenya, where opportunities for young girls to play golf were rare. I first discovered the game through Rose Naliaka, who offered free golf lessons to girls in the community.

I wasn't initially selected because of my height, but I refused to give up. Instead, I would sneak into training sessions with my friends. One day, when she noticed me and asked why I was there, I simply said, "I really want to play golf. Please let me stay."

That moment changed everything.

Golf quickly became my passion and shaped the path I am on today.

Today, I compete on the Sapphire Tour, a professional development tour dedicated to creating opportunities for Black women in golf. The tour hosts events across the United States, including Memphis, Chicago, Denver, Maryland, New Orleans, and Atlanta.

Winning my first professional event in Denver has strengthened my belief that I can compete at the highest levels of the game. It has also reinforced how important community support is in helping athletes continue to pursue opportunities and reach their full potential.

Over the years, so many people have followed my journey and expressed a desire to support. That encouragement has meant more than I can put into words, and this is where I now humbly ask for your help.

My next major goal is LPGA Qualifying School (Q-School), the pathway to earning status on the Epson Tour and ultimately competing on the LPGA Tour, the highest level of women's professional golf.
