I was compelled to start this GoFund me from those kind souls that wanted to give a little something toward the team and our efforts to promote our film even if it was not a lot. Everything especially your prayers and a kind word is as valuable to me, my family and my filming teams.

I am George Zouvelos, the creator, writer, and director of Once a Week for Life, a feature film. Once a Week for Life features an ensemble of new, talented performers acting alongside recognizable actors who have appeared in more than 179 Academy, Emmy Award, Golden Globe, Peoples Choice, SAG and Grammy winning television programming. We are also finishing Part 2 with an equally talented ensemble.

I wanted to take this opportunity to describe Once a Week for Life (OWFL). Once a Week for Life is a theatrical length feature film based in Astoria, New York City that is primarily self funded. OWFL is a crime drama and thriller written, directed, narrated and produced by George Zouvelos (that’s me). I am a SAG-AFTRA and AEA award winning independent film actor, and I star as NYPD Lieutenant Adam Galanis.

The story begins after a sting implodes and a fugitive escape ignites a chain reaction. Adam is pulled into a war where a New York crime family and City Hall collide, and the rules that keep him “good” start to look like the thing that will get him killed. He must choose: die by his own code, or compromise and live as something worse, deciding what to sacrifice and whether he is prey or the apex predator he was trained to be.

Although there is no graphic sex or gory blood, the film is intended for mature audiences due to language, drinking, and drug use. It is for mature audiences who recognize the salty language of Quintessential New Yorkers in the syndicate world.

At the final stretch of post production excellence, awareness, and distribution, so we can build audience excitement and lasting interest. Independent films live or die on the real costs required to get a completed movie in front of real people, in real theaters.

Funds raised for Once a Week for Life will go toward practical expenses that support completion and a professional rollout, including final post work, release preparation, and audience building.

Every dollar supports quality, reach, ads and execution, so the film does not get buried and instead reaches the finish line and the audience it was made for.

With your help, it can ease the stress as we will make certain that the authentic performances of our actors, and the hard work of our crew members and friends, carry us through the finish line and into release. Our goal is a limited theatrical release, hopefully in late February 2026 and early March 2026, followed shortly thereafter by availability to rent or buy on Apple TV, Anazon Prime and other cable platforms.

The film was shot one hundred percent on real locations in neighborhoods near you, with working artists building something authentic from the ground up.
