***UPDATE*** Thanks to your support, I made it to the Nationals and won my first National Title in the Women's Adaptive Division on June 7!
Hi, my name is Emma Jago and I’m a proud, totally blind judo athlete from Victoria. I’ve been training and competing in judo for several years now, and despite the challenges of my vision impairment, I’ve never let it stop me from giving my all to the sport I love.
This year, I’ve achieved some exciting milestones—winning gold at the Victorian Summer Judo Tournament and placing third at the Melbourne International Judo Open, both in the able-bodied and adaptive division. Now, for the first time, I’ve been given the opportunity to represent Victoria at the 2025 Judo Nationals.
Competing at Nationals is a huge step toward my ultimate dream of representing Australia at the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. But getting there comes with significant costs—especially for an athlete like me, who requires the support of a qualified disability support worker to travel safely and independently. And, of course, I need to take Valmai with me, lucky she gets to travel for free.
I'm reaching out to ask for your help in raising $2,880 to cover the essential costs of attending the Nationals which is on June 6-8, 2025.
