Our family never imagined we would be writing words like these.

Our beloved Billy was diagnosed in December 2025 with Grade 4 Glioblastoma (GBM), the most aggressive form of brain cancer. He is the kind of person who quietly lifts others up, often with humor, honesty, and kindness. He is strong, funny, a little stubborn in the best way, and endlessly caring.

Our lives were turned upside down when Billy experienced two massive seizures while officiating his son’s RMSC swim meet in November 2025. Since then, he and his family have been facing the fight of their lives.

Beyond the emotional challenges, the family is experiencing tremendous financial strain as they do everything possible to provide for Billy’s care while maintaining as much normalcy as possible for their two teenagers. Mounting out-of-pocket medical expenses, lost wages, and everyday living costs continue to grow. GBM is one of the most expensive cancers to treat, and these unforeseen expenses have created an overwhelming burden at a time when their focus should be on healing and family.

Through your generosity, funds raised will help cover essential medical (uncovered visits, scans, imaging, therapies, co-pays, and medications) and living expenses (mortgage, utilities, food, gas), and allow their children to continue pursuing their passion for swimming. Every donation, no matter the size, will help provide Billy and Kim with hope, stability, and peace of mind during this difficult journey.

Billy has always been generous with his time, friendship, and service to others. He has touched the lives of so many through his involvement as HOA President, FV soccer coach, RBBA baseball coach, and most recently as an RMSC swim official. The community means so much to both Billy and Kim, and now, in their time of need, that same community has the opportunity to rally around them.

Right now, the family’s focus is supporting Billy through treatment and ensuring he can spend precious time surrounded by the people he loves most. This fundraiser is a way for friends, family, neighbors, and the community to help ease the burden they are carrying. Kim’s teacher salary alone is not enough to cover the family’s basic needs while facing the realities of an incurable illness.
