Supporting a Future Doctor's Internship

I have been selected for a prestigious pre-medical school internship position in Mombasa, Kenya with International Medical Aid, in partnership with Johns Hopkins, at the Coast General Coastal Hospital. This hospital has 750 beds and serves a population of nearly 6 million! This opportunity is incredibly competitive and will provide me with invaluable hands-on experience working alongside and shadowing a physician for four weeks.

During my time in Mombasa, I will be focusing on critical areas such as maternal care, ICU, trauma, and general surgery, while also participating in community events in local villages and schools. This experience will not only broaden my medical knowledge but also help me make a positive impact in underserved communities. This for me feels like the opportunity of a lifetime. Unfortunately, the trip is out of my reach. I've been able to save up a little over $6,000, but I need close to $10,000 to be able to go on this trip. That $4,000 will cover all the costs involved in the trip: my flights there and back, traveler’s prophylaxis and everything I'll need while I'm in Mombasa.
